Club History

The Wairarapa Badminton Academy (WBA) was founded in 2024 to foster a vibrant badminton community in the Wairarapa region. Before its establishment, badminton enthusiasts often needed to travel to neighboring cities for training and matches. WBA was created to bring the sport closer to home. What began as a small social group has become a lively club with over 30 active members. We offer training programs for all age groups and skill levels, ranging from beginners to competitive players. Our aim is to create a space where everyone can enjoy the sport, enhance their skills, and be part of a supportive community.

Vision and Values At the Wairarapa Badminton Academy, our vision is to elevate badminton to a mainstream sport within the region and to nurture local talent capable of competing at both national and international levels. We believe that badminton is more than just a game; it teaches essential life skills such as discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
